Summary
Join Lovevery, a fast-growing direct-to-consumer startup, as our Senior Commercial Counsel! Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide expert legal and business judgment, negotiating and drafting contracts, and handling various commercial matters and compliance. You will be involved in corporate legal projects, supporting new product development and global expansion. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience as a licensed attorney, including time in Big Law and in-house legal teams. Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a licensed attorney with a combination of Big Law and at least 2 years as a member of an in-house legal team
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex technology transactions and other commercial agreements
- JD from an accredited US law school (top 50 highly preferred). Candidates will need to provide both law school and undergraduate GPAs
- Law license in good standing in one of the 50 United States; no disciplinary history from any professional organization (e.g., state bar)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with impeccable attention to detail
- Organized self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to balance legal risk mitigation against key business objectives and risks
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, licenses, and other technology transfer agreements, supporting the companyβs business teams, including, in particular, digital marketing and content creation
- Develop and maintain forms of agreements and a contract playbook of material terms
- Manage non-disclosure agreements, employee confidential information agreements, and maintenance of confidential information protections across the organization
- Coordinate contract workflow and continually improve processes to identify efficiencies and facilitate timely negotiation and execution of agreements
- Provide general commercial legal services and counsel
- Stay apprised of ever-changing laws and regulations affecting the business
- Support expansion into new markets and formation of subsidiaries
- Assist Legal team and partner with outside counsel on issues and matters as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting digital marketing and consumer products businesses is highly desirable
- Data privacy experience is a plus
