Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • 4+ years in a management capacity
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements
  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • Proven commissioning management experience in renewable energy
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract exhibits
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems and components, installation practices, and quality standards
  • Versed in industry standards, codes, regulations related to utility scale PV, BESS, wind, substation, construction
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential commissioning issues and risks
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc
  • Understand tools and equipment calibration procedures
  • Availability to travel 50% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-construction meetings, review EPC Agreement, construction schedules, and coordinate with Development Engineer on planning stage specifications and technical questions
  • Review and understand the project technical requirements found in the Agreements, IFC drawings, applicable codes, standards, and specifications including ISO and PPA requirements
  • Ensure project commissioning requirements are clearly defined and aligned with company goals
  • Review installation manuals and submittals to understand the installation process for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical tasks
  • Attend pre-construction alignment meetings prior to all new construction activities beginning with contractor
  • Review the EPC Site-Specific Commissioning Plan and LOTO procedures
  • Serve as a point of contact for project-related commissioning inquiries, both internal and external
  • Coordinate communication between project teams, Contractors, Suppliers, and regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate on the First Build, Golden Row/Golden Tower installation inspections
  • Cross functional communication and support for project commissioning
  • Ensure EPC Contractor documentation meets EPC Agreement requirements for deliverables
  • Build and maintain Commissioning test tracker for Contractor deliverables
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for review of test documents for approval or remediation
  • Assist with quality control processes to ensure projects meet industry standards, manufacture specifications, and applicable code requirements
  • Attend Pre-Construction Alignment Meetings, First Build, and Golden Row/Golden Tower Inspections
  • Ensure installation and testing is in accordance with industry standards, manufacturer specifications, applicable code requirements, safety regulations, and that any necessary certifications are obtained
  • Ensure the appropriate test equipment is utilized by the contractor to perform the task and tool calibration records are maintained and available upon request
  • Analyze data from inspections and testing to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions and process enhancements
  • Maintain in-process lessons learned log
  • Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies. Proactively address challenges to keep projects on track and minimize disruptions
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture in accordance with safety protocols and regulations
  • Report any unsafe act or activity to the Construction Site Manager and Site Safety Manager
