Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in accounting, tax, and consolidation of entities across multiple jurisdictions and currencies, ideally in a public company
- 8+ years of experience leading diverse, cross-functional teams across multiple locations, fostering collaboration and effective communication in a global environment
- In-depth knowledge of financial close processes and month-end/year-end closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting
- Expertise in IFRS reporting standards, as well as local accounting standards, including Mexican NIF, ideally with a comprehensive understanding of region-specific regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience in crypto accounting or tax operations
- Proven track record leading internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Strong expertise in setting up and enforcing internal controls, and improving financial processes
- Extensive experience in international tax laws, including transfer pricing, intercompany agreements, and tax compliance across diverse regulatory environments
- Proven experience in implementing and customizing ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, in a multi-jurisdictional context
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of financial data and reports, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity
- Strong track record and passion for building, managing, mentoring, and inspiring teams, with the ability to influence peers and lead cross-functional initiatives. Able to assert ideas, gain support, and mobilize action across departments
- Proven ability to collaborate with executive teams and department heads to align financial operations with business goals
- Ability to adapt to the fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of the crypto industry, staying ahead of regulatory changes
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex cross-border financial matters, and a proven ability to thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to senior management, external stakeholders, and auditors
- Sets a benchmark for ethical conduct, maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity
- Note: Deep experience in Mexico is essential, given Bitsoβs primary operations in the country
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for all entities across multiple jurisdictions and currencies
- Oversee the financial consolidation process for all entities, preparing consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Lead the financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate month-end of financial records, presenting variance analysis to senior management
- Ensure that financial data is accurate and complete, regularly reviewing reports and financial statements for discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate and oversee tax filings and compliance, ensuring timely submission of tax returns for all operating entities
- Monitor and manage tax planning strategies, including transfer pricing, intercompany agreements, and international tax compliance
- Develop and implement an optimal tax structure for the company's next 10 years of operations, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Oversee accounts payable and procurement processes, ensuring the implementation of efficient and streamlined workflows
- Lead group audit, collaborating with auditors to ensure accurate reporting and addressing any audit findings, as well as regulatory audits
- Ensure the optimization of the ERP system
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define the optimal structure for new products, considering accounting, tax, and fund flow aspects
- Partner with the Engineering team to ensure the automation of new revenue lines
- Build trusted relationships with key cross-functional business partners and stakeholders at the highest levels of the organization to ensure collaboration and deep understanding of the business
- Mentor and manage a team of accounting and finance professionals, fostering professional development and promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in procurement and accounts payable & receivable management is a plus
- Experience with U.S. tax matters for investors, such as K-1s, PFIC, and CFC issues, is a plus
- Familiarity with financial regulations and tax compliance in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia would be highly valued
