Join Turing's dynamic legal team as a Senior Counsel, Employment (India) and provide strategic legal guidance on employment matters across India operations. You will lead employment law compliance programs, manage employment contracts and HR policies, counsel on employment matters, and partner with various teams to develop compliant practices. The role also involves monitoring Indian employment law developments, managing litigation, supporting global compliance initiatives, and developing training programs. This position requires a strong background in Indian employment law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Requirements

  • LL.B. degree from a recognized university in India
  • 10+ years of employment law experience with primary focusing on Indian employment laws
  • Active membership in Bar Council of India
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, employment regulations, contractor tests, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead employment law compliance programs and initiatives for India operations
  • Manage employment contracts, contractor agreements, and HR policies
  • Provide day-to-day counseling on employment matters including hiring, terminations, workplace investigations, and employee relations
  • Partner with People, Developer Experience and various business teams to develop compliant employment practices and minimize legal risks
  • Monitor and analyze employment law developments in India and advise on impact to business operations
  • Manage employment-related litigation and work with outside counsel when needed
  • Support global employment compliance initiatives and cross-border employment matters
  • Develop and conduct training programs on employment law compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • LL.M. in Labor Laws or related field
  • Experience with international employment laws and cross-border employment matters
  • Previous in-house counsel experience in a technology company
  • Experience with contractor compliance and gig economy regulations
  • India corporate governance experience
