Senior Database Engineer

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Proven experience in database management with a focus on high performance and scalability
• Deep understanding and practical experience with Postgres, Oracle, ElasticSearch, Cassandra
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in dynamic environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multifunctional teams
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced team members
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques

Responsibilities

• Work on database modeling, optimization, and administration, ensuring high availability, scalability, and data security
• Collaborate closely with development, data engineering, and infrastructure teams to implement best practices and efficient solutions
• Ensure database security, managing user access control, and compliance with data privacy regulations (such as LGPD)
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, and facilitate collaboration across teams
• Take ownership of database performance tuning, scaling strategies, and resource optimization to ensure efficient operations
• Ensure the database systems are fully integrated into the platform’s infrastructure
• Develop and manage robust database backup, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity
• Work alongside engineering teams to integrate databases seamlessly into applications and services
• Contribute to a culture of agile development and continuous delivery, always exploring new technologies and best practices for optimizing database management processes
• Implement and maintain effective monitoring and observability solutions to track database performance, capacity, and cost metrics
