Summary

Join Higher Logic's Platform Engineering team as a full-time employee and play a crucial role in continuously improving our SaaS infrastructure. You will collaborate and work independently on complex projects to execute our infrastructure roadmap and promote DevOps best practices. This position requires a high degree of technical skill and precision in a global, multi-cloud environment. You will manage and configure cloud infrastructure components, primarily in AWS, and contribute to service reliability. Responsibilities

  • Manage and configure cloud infrastructure components, primarily in AWS
  • Help to create strong feedback loops between all business lines by communicating, documenting, and remediating operational incidents
  • Actively support security and compliance as a first-class concern
  • Decrease the incidence, scope, and severity of operational failures (improve MTTR and MTBF)
  • Guide products to Production Readiness (scalability, observability, operability, resiliency, etc.)
  • Create, maintain, and operate CI/CD pipelines, for both product and infrastructure resources (IAC)
  • Provide on-call support and troubleshoot problems and malfunctions on managed infrastructure
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Higher Logic policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some high-level language experience such as: Python, PowerShell, C# (and need to write code for your job)
  • Demonstrated server-management skills, including a high level of comfort on the command line
  • Infrastructure-as-code, and related tools such as: Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Packer, GitHub Actions
  • AWS, Windows Server, Linux, Windows Kerberos Authentication, Active Directory, ADFS, SQL Server, MySQL, IIS, HAProxy, Autoscaling, RDS, Docker, Redis, Memcached, CI/CD
  • Experience with Cisco or other network appliances, and network design best practices
  • Deep understanding of internet concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, databases, caching, load balancing)
