Senior DevOps Engineer in Vietnam

Summary

Employment Hero is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of their Payroll platform. The engineer will lead initiatives to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and systems, optimize usage of AWS technologies, develop monitoring and incident response practices, automate deployment processes, conduct performance analysis, collaborate with software engineering teams, and drive continuous improvement. Requirements include experience in a similar role, cloud computing platforms, .NET and Microsoft services, Elastic Beanstalk, containerization and orchestration technologies, monitoring and logging tools, networking concepts, scripting languages, problem-solving skills, communication skills, Agile/Scrum methodologies, English language abilities, and experience with mentoring teammates or leading an Engineering squad is preferred.

Requirements

• Experienced in a similar role, with a proven track record of designing and maintaining highly reliable and scalable systems
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, and enforcing secure cloud infrastructure
• Experience with .NET and Microsoft services (Windows Server, MS SQL, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Elastic Beanstalk
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog and Sentry
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as C#, Ruby, or TypeScript
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• You are passionate about learning and sharing your knowledge, and not afraid to challenge your peers, but also welcome being challenged
• English language abilities, both written and verbal - you’ll be working with people across the world, including from Australia

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure and services
• Optimise our usage of AWS Technologies to align with industry security best practices
• Develop and implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response to ensure system reliability and availability
• Automate deployment, configuration, and management processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to proactively address scalability challenges and optimise resource utilisation
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure that applications are designed for reliability, scalability, and performance
• Drive continuous improvement through the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as needed, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on users

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience
• You have experience in mentoring team mates, or even leading an Engineering squad
