Summary

Join our employee-owned company as a Sr. Direct Response Conversion Copy Strategist specializing in financial services. You will be responsible for creating high-converting advertising and sales content for digital products, including sales letters, emails, landing pages, and video scripts. Collaborate with the Sr. Director, Brand Services, on brand positioning, competitive analysis, and leveraging data to refine messaging. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, results-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments. You will also conduct market research, interview internal experts, and stay updated on compliance and regulations. This role involves A/B testing, optimizing digital touchpoints, and analyzing performance data to improve conversion rates. The position is based in Woodland Hills, CA, with remote options available.

Requirements

  • Portfolio demonstrating high-converting ad copy, long-form sales letters, and digital campaigns
  • Exceptional research and storytelling skills with the ability to write for credibility, clarity, and persuasion
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels including paid social, email, and video
  • Strong understanding of customer psychology, funnel architecture, and direct marketing principles
  • High attention to detail and editorial excellence
  • Self-starter and agile problem solver
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Deep understanding of the compliance and trust-building requirements in financial communication
  • Data-driven and metrics-oriented approach
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in direct response copywriting, especially within financial, info product, or digital subscription models

Responsibilities

  • Direct Response Copywriting
  • Write long-form and short-form copy for various funnel stages including sales letters, advertorials, email campaigns, opt-in pages, webinar registrations, VSLs, and social/digital ads
  • Develop irresistible hooks, leads, and CTA-driven content that aligns with the psychology of financial buyers
  • Collaborate with funnel strategists, designers, and performance marketers to create content optimized for conversions and LTV
  • Translate complex financial topics into clear, emotionally resonant language for a consumer audience
  • Research & Market Intelligence
  • Independently research market trends, competing offers, pricing strategies, and positioning in the financial education, advisory, and newsletter space
  • Interview internal SMEs and analyze customer data to inform messaging strategy
  • Stay up-to-date on compliance, advertising regulations, and financial communication best practices
  • Brand & Campaign Support
  • Partner with the Brand Director to ensure messaging is aligned with overarching brand voice, values, and differentiation
  • Help craft unique positioning for offers and ongoing campaigns based on market research and data insights
  • Contribute to the creation of brand stories and signature content that build trust and authority in the financial niche
  • E-Commerce & Conversion Optimization
  • Collaborate with digital teams to A/B test headlines, CTAs, and copy variants across landing pages and email flows
  • Assist in optimizing digital touchpoints to improve metrics like CTR, CVR, AOV, and ROAS
  • Review analytics and performance dashboards to iterate and improve upon existing funnels

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
