Summary
Join TELUS Digital as the Senior Director, AI & Gen AI and lead the global AI & Gen AI practice. You will define the vision, strategy, and framework for AI and Gen AI services, aligning with company goals and market trends. Responsibilities include selling and delivering complex AI projects, leading and mentoring a team of data scientists and AI engineers, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You will also identify growth opportunities, expand the practice globally, and refine processes to improve efficiency. The role offers the flexibility of working remotely or in a hybrid capacity. This leadership position requires extensive experience in data and AI, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data and AI services and 1+ years in Gen AI services, with a proven track record in leading machine learning projects, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering successful data transformation projects
- Proven leadership experience in data and AI, or a related role, with a strong background in designing and implementing data science solutions
- Prior experience leading client data technical engagements across data engineering, data science, AI, and Gen AI workstreams
- Strong leadership and proactive communication to coordinate with the project teams and other internal stakeholders
- Experience with delivering solutions on major cloud platforms, data science tools, and Gen AI technologies
- Experience leading and managing large multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on driving collaboration and continuous improvement. Proven ability to recruit, develop, and mentor geographically dispersed teams - and win together
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for leveraging data to drive business outcomes
- Strong business acumen, with experience in managing P&L, revenue growth, and client engagements
- Proven ability to be successful in an innovative, global organization, and to proactively enlist commitment from peers in delivering consulting solutions
Responsibilities
- Define global AI & Gen AI vision, product, technical strategy, and framework. Develop and execute the overall strategy for the services, aligning with company goals and market trends
- Sell and deliver complex and innovative AI & Gen AI projects for our clients, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, Gen AI engineers, conversational AI experts, and LLM experts. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the practice
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on driving collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, guiding them on leveraging Ai & Gen AI to drive business outcomes. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through quality delivery and strong partnerships
- Identify opportunities to grow the practice, working closely with sales teams to build relationships with new and existing clients. Lead efforts to create innovative solutions that meet clients' AI and Gen AI needs
- Lead the expansion of the global AI & Gen AI practice through the recruitment and coaching of global talent
- Establish and refine processes to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and overall practice performance. Implement best practices, frameworks, and accelerators
- Stay at the forefront of AI & Gen AI advancements, incorporating emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and cloud solutions into practice offerings
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, such as publishing articles and speaking at industry events
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or similar, and/or professional certifications or accreditations in AI, or related field
- Experience that spans across consulting, agency, and client-side roles
