Summary

Join Blavity, Inc. as their Senior Director, Digital Operations & Strategy, leading the strategic direction of branded and non-branded production across multiple digital properties. You will oversee editorial teams, create best-in-class custom content for partners, and drive innovation in digital storytelling. This role requires collaboration with various teams, including Client Services and Sales, to achieve business objectives. The position reports to the Vice President, Digital Operations & Business Strategy and involves regular performance reporting and identifying new content opportunities. This is a fully remote, U.S.-based role with occasional travel, requiring alignment with the Eastern Time Zone.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors in Business Management, Economic, Communications or Marketing
  • Required Experience: 8+ yrs in at a digital agency role or digital media company
  • Significant experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing vision, to the message platform, to overseeing production on-time and on-budget
  • Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Candidates must be available to work in 100% alignment with the Eastern Time Zone

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ideation, development, and execution of multi-channel branded campaigns
  • Oversee the creation and optimization of organic content strategies across various digital properties
  • Drive innovation in digital storytelling and content formats while maintaining brand consistency
  • Collaborate with Client Services and Sales teams to come up with the best possible creative solutions to maintain and grow client relationships during production
  • Represent Blavity on client meetings to build and grow client relationships during long term custom content partnerships
  • Own approvals for creative assets and campaign deliverables
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop organic content strategy that aligns with our brands’ mission and business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (audience development, data, engineering, creative operations etc.) to produce quality and engaging content
  • Improve existing content production workflows by integrating new tools or technology that will increase operational efficiency
  • Leverage platforms such as Tableau and GA4 to analyze content performance and make data driven strategic shifts
  • Report regularly on performance highlighting wins and areas of improvements
  • Identify new content opportunities consistently to stay on top of trends while also driving performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Experience: 5+ yrs managing people/teams
  • Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proven love for transforming unorganized/complex data into rigorously structured, insight-oriented solutions
  • High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats
  • Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
  • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

  • The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $165,000
