Summary

Join Precision for Medicine as the Executive Director of FSP operational strategy, overseeing the FSP team and driving high-quality deliverables. You will lead projects to maintain a competitive edge in FSP resourcing for biotech and pharma clients. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer to set and deploy commercial FSP strategy. Key responsibilities include managing capacity planning, developing processes and tools, facilitating communication with stakeholders, and collaborating on marketing strategies. You will also manage the department budget, set goals, and oversee KPIs. This position requires significant client interaction, including presentations and bid defense meetings. Finally, you will lead the FSP strategy group, supporting performance management and professional development of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or MS highly preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of prior CRO, biotech/pharma, or life sciences business development, commercial strategy experience
  • Computer proficiency: Salesforce, MS Project, MS PPT, excel
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and/or oversee management of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to move from strategy to action, and ensuring new processes and tools take hold in an organization
  • Demonstrated influence skills with colleagues and peers toward action without having direct line reporting authority
  • Collaborates with diverse stakeholders including partner organizations
  • Prioritizes and makes trade-offs across a broad set of opportunities in order to maximize impact, while maintaining business focus and delivery
  • Balances opportunity for greater process and structure with need to preserve a culture of agility and nimbleness required to effectively serve our clients

Responsibilities

  • Manage the capacity planning for the FSP Department, notably with respect to RFP and bid defense deliverables
  • Develop process and tools to ensure consistent and high-quality deliverables within the department. Oversee associated department metrics. Gain input from key stakeholders to ensure constant process improvement
  • Facilitate close communications with key stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of FSP proposal input, budget review, BDM preparation and delivery, client meeting, convergence opportunities and representing Precision at conferences
  • Work closely with the marketing group to consider strategies for FSP marketing approaches for Precision. Coordinate the input of the FSP department into marketing materials such as conference presentations and white papers. Represent the company through speaking engagements, conferences attendance and by publishing scientific or industry related articles
  • In collaboration with colleagues and senior management, manage the department budget, set department goals, oversee department KPIs, and consider scaling and growth strategies for the department
  • Create and refine budgets and support the development and finalization of resourcing budgets for potential opportunities in partnership with other functional leadership as necessary
  • Participate in the post award engagement meeting to ensure the talent acquisition and functional team has the information and rationale behind the strategy position
  • Represent Precision for Medicine in client meetings to include support capabilities presentations and client meetings and provide feasibility and competitive landscape direction input, and support for bid defense meetings utilizing software and web-based applications. Create innovative solutions in conjunction with medical and scientific strategy, and provide consulting, as needed, for clients who are seeking input
  • Work with Precision for Medicine team to support pre-award collaboration and inclusion of translational and data innovation strategies where appropriate, to help optimize Precision impact
  • Represent the Company by attending industry meetings, speaking engagements, booth exhibitions, etc., and by publishing scientific or industry related articles in industry journals and digital media
  • Lead the members of the FSP strategy group to include supporting performance management and professional development of direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support. Engages closely and constructively with other commercial, operational, and scientific leaders across PMG
  • Maintains deep understanding of commercial, competitor, and regulatory landscapes, and the resultant impact on commercial strategy and operations
  • Travel as required to manage and support business objectives (up to 35%)
