Summary

Join Accurate Background as a Senior Director of Product Management and play a pivotal role in shaping our clients' experience with our platforms and portals. You will guide a product team, building new capabilities and enhancing product satisfaction and market fit. This role demands a blend of business and technical acumen, strategic vision, and the ability to translate that vision into reality. You will collaborate extensively across various organizational functions, making decisions with imperfect information and leading without direct authority. As an internal and external evangelist, you will represent Accurate's product offerings, supporting sales and key clients. The position requires a deep understanding of customer-centric product practices and expertise in the customer journey, planning, and product development.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience within the Background Screening industry or adjacent industry
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline (Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding of the software (and product) development lifecycle and have direct experience managing in an Agile methodology such as Scrum (using tools such as Jira and Confluence)
  • Minimum four years’ experience in a senior product manager role
  • Comfortable in ambiguity, flexible and open to change
  • Excellent soft skills required
  • You will be interfacing with all levels of the organization
  • The ability to communicate ideas concepts with elegance and boardroom posture
  • If not located in the Orange County, California area, then a commitment for occasional travel

Responsibilities

  • Work with the VP, Product Management and other senior Accurate leaders to deliver on key client impact, product goals and business results
  • Product Discovery and Product Strategy
  • Create and manage a well-defined product strategy that provides clarity, focus, and direction to product development efforts, ensuring that product(s) remain relevant, competitive, and aligned with the company's overall vision and objectives
  • Continuous product discovery (2-4 customer calls per week) to understand customer needs
  • Review prototypes with customers to validate assumptions made during product discovery
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to support product development efforts
  • Work side-by-side with business unit personnel to ensure product success and seamless process
  • On occasion travel to client sites, escalation locations and trade shows to directly support our clients, Sales and Marketing initiatives
  • Prioritize Market Needs and Lead Development Effort
  • Define business outcomes through detailed and thoughtful planning, forecasting, and identifying key indicators
  • Translate data and analytics into actionable business decisions and key strategy
  • Create user stories from customer needs and solution requirements
  • Work side-by-side with Product’s platform and data teams to develop and test prototypes
  • Oversee functional quality of the work being delivered
  • Customer Testing, Deployment, Field Success
  • Identify and work with customers to beta test new products/features
  • Analyze customer deployments, identify opportunities for product improvement
  • Roadmap
  • Conduct appropriate levels of market research, competitive analysis, and business planning to help Accurate’s products and solutions win in the marketplace
  • Establish, refine, and communicate through the business and to customers a shared understanding of the vision and roadmap planning for your product; ensure the prioritized backlog aligns with the roadmap plan
  • Establish goals and manage to your product scorecards – communicate progress across internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business drivers of your products – profitability, pricing, services mix, sales channels, etc. Continuously monitor product performance against goals
  • Collaborate across all major functions to drive success within Engineering & Infrastructure, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Finance
  • Team
  • Establish key team and individual metrics to drive client engagement, impact and satisfaction
  • Manage and coach a team primarily by providing high-quality feedback on their work and educational opportunities

Benefits

  • $165,000 - $200,000 a year
  • The annual base salary for this position ranges from $165,000 - $200,000
  • Pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education and training
  • This position may also be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, commission, or other variable pay plan
