Senior Engineering Manager

Summary

As a thought partner to leadership, you'll define and improve the architecture of our cloud-based microservices. This role requires 2+ years of experience leading platform-focused engineering teams and strong technical expertise in Python microservices. Requirements

• 2+ years experience leading Platforms-focused engineering teams
• Ability to build strong teams via hiring, balancing the needs of the team now and into the future
• Excellent communication skills to partner with other engineering teams, product and the rest of the business
• Strong technical experience with focus in Python microservices enabling the ability to roll up their sleeves as needed
• Ability to define and continuously improve the architecture of cloud-based microservices, event-driven applications and integrations with external applications and partners
• Ability to define the longer term technical strategy around scalable service platforms, APIs, SDKs, etc

Responsibilities

• Coach, Manage, and Develop the Platform team to deliver on key infrastructure for the product roadmap
• Drive the technical health of the platform components
• Own the architecture strategy and roadmap and ensure the teams are operating at the forefront of the best practices for SmartBiz
• Act as a thought partner to leadership and colleagues across engineering and product and translate strategy into execution and delivery
• Deliver highly observable services using distributed tracing, logging, and metric collection
