Summary

Join Kaeppel Consulting as a Senior Enterprise IT Architect for a 6-month temporary role (with possible extension) in Erie, PA, potentially remote. This position focuses on developing and validating IT architecture aligning with business requirements for moderately complex initiatives. You will set direction for IT strategy, empower decision-making, and drive change within the organization. The role involves working across various architectural practices (Enterprise, Solution, and Technology Architecture) and requires significant experience in on-prem and cloud environments (AWS). There's a possibility of permanent employment after the initial term.

Requirements

  • Significant on-prem experience and cloud experience (specifically AWS)
  • Prior experience as an Enterprise Architect
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Cloud certification in AWS Solution Architect

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment where full context is provided to drive strategy for moderately complex, transformative initiatives
  • Develop and validate the IT architecture against requirements of the business for initiatives of moderate architectural impact
  • Set direction and achieve alignment around the IT strategy and determine the best path to achieve it
  • Empower the organization to efficiently make high-quality technology and process decisions that enable our business vision in environments that require moderate sophistication in relationship building and partnership
  • Apply focus to driving change within people as change leaders, catalyzers, influencers, etc
  • Align investments to business outcomes by providing the direction and artifacts for how people, processes, technology, and information combine to improve business capabilities
  • Actively mature discipline based on industry and internal best practices
  • Actively engage with partners to define business outcomes. Clearly articulate business and technical concepts so others can understand the context of our investments
  • Provide outside-in (external, industry, customer, etc.) and outcome-based perspective to drive change that reduces expenses, enables business agility, and improves competitive position. Ensure flexibility of change to future-proof investment by providing the ability to re-configure or pivot as necessary with less switching costs
  • Drive collaboration across disparate groups on broad topics towards decisionable results and provide appropriate levels of open communication
  • Utilize sufficient facts and sound business judgment to influence decision makers in an evolving environment and capture those decisions in meaningful artifacts. The artifacts are created as written accounts of collaboration
  • Form an effective partnership with other job families for results-driven outcomes. Present a unified architectural perspective and function

Preferred Qualifications

  • P & C insurance industry experience
  • Good experience in cloud transformation area
