Senior Enterprise IT Architect

Summary

Join Kaeppel Consulting as a Senior Enterprise IT Architect for a 6-month temporary role (with possible extension and hire option) in Erie, PA, potentially remote. You will create an environment providing full context for moderately complex initiatives, developing and validating IT architecture against business requirements. The role involves setting direction for IT strategy, empowering the organization to make high-quality technology decisions, and potentially working across Enterprise, Solution, and Technology Architecture practices. This position focuses on the enterprise technology roadmap and strategy, requiring significant on-prem and cloud (AWS) experience. You will drive change, align investments to business outcomes, mature discipline based on best practices, and collaborate across groups for decisionable results.

Requirements

• Significant on-prem experience and cloud experience (specifically AWS)
• Prior experience as an Enterprise Architect
• Good understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Cloud certification in AWS Solution Architect
• P & C insurance industry experience
• Good experience in cloud transformation area

Responsibilities

• Creates an environment where full context is provided to drive strategy for moderately complex, transformative initiatives
• Develops and validates the IT architecture against requirements of the business for initiatives of moderate architectural impact
• Sets direction and achieves alignment around the IT strategy and determines the best path to achieve it
• Empowers the organization to efficiently make high-quality technology and process decisions that enable our business vision in environments that require moderate sophistication in relationship building and partnership
• May perform duties in one or more of the following practices: Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Technology Architecture
• The opportunity of Senior IT Architect (Enterprise) will focus on enterprise technology roadmap and strategy for a client’s entire enterprise scope
• Applies focus to driving change within people as change leaders, catalyzers, influencers, etc
• Aligns investments to business outcomes by providing the direction and artifacts for how people, processes, technology, and information combine to improve business capabilities
• Actively matures discipline based on industry and internal best practices
• Actively engages with partners to define business outcomes
• Clearly articulates business and technical concepts so others can understand the context of our investments
• Provides outside-in (external, industry, customer, etc.) and outcome-based perspective to drive change that reduces expenses, enables business agility, and improves competitive position
• Ensures flexibility of change to future-proof investment by providing the ability to re-configure or pivot as necessary with less switching costs
• Drives collaboration across disparate groups on broad topics towards decisionable results and provides appropriate levels of open communication
• Utilizes sufficient facts and sound business judgment to influence decision makers in an evolving environment and captures those decisions in meaningful artifacts
• The artifacts are created as written accounts of collaboration
• Forms an effective partnership with other job families for results-driven outcomes
