Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related discipline with 5+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • 5+ years of business analysis and requirements-gathering skills in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • 3+ years of functional experience in the requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of Appian or a similar product
  • Functional experience with products in the landscape of BPM, Case management, process automation, and workflow management
  • Experience with Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System (MUMPS) code in support of releases within the VA’s Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA)
  • Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Transaction Application Suite (TAS) programs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and succeed working in agile teams
  • Experience creating user stories, use case diagrams, mockups, and process flow charts for gathering requirements from customers/external stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops, conduct interviews, and JAD sessions for requirements gathering using tools like Jira and Confluence

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business user needs and document them as epics and decompose epics into user stories and tasks as needed by the agile scrum teams
  • Analyze the information system baseline and perform a gap analysis between the baseline, user operational requirements, and the operating capability of products
  • Translate customer requirements into the best fit within the application and support configuration and development of Appian BPM products, processes, and documentation
  • Develop and maintain standard systems requirement documents, including but not limited to business process workflows, Functional Requirements Documents, Requirement Traceability Matrix, and use cases
  • Support and implement complex enterprise system configurations and end-to-end development design
  • Create business process models and identify business process improvements
  • Review and comment on the proposed functional/capability configuration for each of the product modules
  • Define and evaluate test scenarios based on requirements; create test scripts to prove each scenario through system and user acceptance testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA)
  • Experience with architectural frameworks (DODAF, FEAF)
  • HL7 FHIR Certification/HL7 International
  • Certified EDI Professional (or equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance
