Requirements
- 6 to 8+ years of experience in global benefits management
- 5 yearsโ experience administering and designing Global benefits programs (experience in the US, Canada, India, and UK preferred)
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits
- Proven experience managing benefit vendors and negotiating contracts
- Ability to partner and foster relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders, such as procurement, finance, payroll, etc
- Excellent change management and project management skill - having previously led major plan design or offering changes
- Experience using HRIS platforms for open enrollment and leave and absence management
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global benefits and wellness strategy that aligns with company goals, values, and budget. Continuously assess and adjust this strategy to ensure competitiveness in local markets, inclusivity, compliance, and that benefits meet the evolving needs of both US-based and international employees
- Oversee the full lifecycle of benefits and wellness programs for US-based employees, including program implementation, communication, enrollment, and administration. Lead the annual Open Enrollment process, preparing documentation, ensuring system configuration, and coordinating vendor integrations as needed
- Design and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees on available benefit options, enrollment procedures, and changes to benefit plans. Provide tools, resources, presentations, and workshops to support employees in making informed benefits decisions. Oversee the management of communication forums, such as Slack, intranet, and email updates
- Partner with local subject-matter experts to ensure global benefits strategies deliver a consistent, positive employee experience while ensuring that policies and programs are locally relevant. Work with international teams to introduce, implement, and manage global benefit programs that cater to the needs of employees across different regions
- Provide expert guidance and consultation on a wide range of benefit areas, including time-off policies, leave of absence programs, retirement/pension plans, healthcare benefits, wellness initiatives, workersโ compensation, return-to-work programs, and more. Serve as a key resource to both employees and leadership on all benefits-related matters
- Conduct benefit surveys, audits, and analyze data regarding employee demographics, utilization patterns, and program costs. Regularly generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness and inclusiveness of benefit programs, offering insights and recommendations for improvements. Identify risks, opportunities, and trends to drive strategic decision-making
- Manage relationships with benefit plan providers, brokers, third-party administrators, and other relevant vendors. Negotiate contracts, manage service levels, and evaluate vendor performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality benefits services. Lead the ongoing vendor management process to maintain strong partnerships and ensure optimal value for the company and its employees
- Stay informed on federal, national, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting employee benefits (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.). Ensure all global benefit programs comply with legal requirements, proactively addressing any risks, compliance issues, or reporting requirements
- Utilize your global benefits experience to design, implement, and build scalable benefits programs across multiple regions. Ensure global benefits offerings are aligned with market trends and company objectives, driving the continuous improvement of the global benefits package
