Senior IT Ops Specialist

Smartcat
Summary
Join Smartcat's DevOps team as ITOps Manager and own the end-to-end lifecycle of employee access and hardware. This role blends process design, automation, vendor management, and FinOps collaboration to ensure efficient provisioning for all employees. You will govern and improve provisioning/de-provisioning processes for accounts, SaaS licenses, and equipment. Responsibilities include finalizing Zluri rollout, designing global hardware lifecycle processes, partnering with FinOps for cost optimization, and expanding automated provisioning. The ideal candidate has experience automating joiner-mover-leaver workflows, negotiating global hardware contracts, integrating access governance with FinOps solutions, and managing multi-million euro vendor budgets. Smartcat offers a fully remote, global team environment.
Requirements
- You have rolled out a fully automated joiner‑mover‑leaver workflow for at least 500 employees, using platforms such as Zluri, Okta Workflows, BetterCloud, or equivalents
- You have negotiated and signed global hardware‑as‑a‑service or depot contracts (e.g., Hofy, FirstBase) that cut average device lead time below seven days while maintaining accurate asset tracking
- You have integrated an access‑governance tool with a FinOps or SaaS spend‑management solution, producing data‑driven savings reports that reduced licence and hardware spend by 15 % or more
- You have designed role‑based access control and least‑privilege policies that passed SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar audits without material findings
- You have managed a multimillion‑euro vendor budget, performing RFPs, contract negotiations, and quarterly business reviews to enforce SLAs and continuous improvement
- You have supported globally distributed, remote‑first workforces across multiple time zones and regions, adapting processes to local compliance and customs‑logistics requirements
Responsibilities
- Govern and continuously improve all provisioning / de‑provisioning processes for accounts, SaaS licences, and physical equipment across the company
- Finalise the rollout of Zluri and operate it as the single automation layer for joiner‑mover‑leaver workflows, enforcing least‑privilege access by default
- Design global hardware lifecycle processes and secure regional partners (e.g., Hofy) to warehouse, ship, reclaim, and refresh devices in every geography where staff are based
- Partner with FinOps to identify and execute licence and hardware cost‑optimisation initiatives, driving measurable savings and accurate chargeback reporting
- Map current access and device workflows, close gaps, and complete Zluri configuration so that 100 % of core apps and groups are automated
- Execute contracts with Hofy (or equivalent) for North America and Europe, including service‑level definitions for shipping, returns, and asset tracking
- Publish a revised joiner‑mover‑leaver SOP and train IT support on the new automation flow
- Integrate Zluri with the chosen FinOps tool to surface real‑time licence usage and orphaned accounts
- Generate the first automated savings report and present top optimisation actions to Finance and Engineering leadership
- Pilot device shipping through Hofy in two regions, capturing metrics on lead time, cost, and employee satisfaction
- Expand automated provisioning to cover 100 % of SaaS applications, VPN, and infrastructure roles, with predefined role‑based access bundles
- Launch global “Day‑1 Ready” hardware programme: orders triggered automatically on contract signature, devices delivered before start date, return kits issued at off‑boarding
- Establish quarterly audit cadence with FinOps, Security, and HR to review access compliance, asset accuracy, and cost benchmarks
