Summary

Join Vonage as a Privacy Manager to minimize privacy risks across our business by ensuring that the controls are implemented across our products, providing world-class strategic, operational, policy, and other privacy support; and identifying privacy-related strategic opportunities in support of our business objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in privacy with in-house experience in a privacy department a plus
  • Expert legal or regulatory skills in privacy and data protection in at least the UK and EU, and excellent understanding of global privacy landscape in technology and online businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems in a complex technology and business environment by creating simple, repeatable, and actionable solutions and policy positions

Responsibilities

  • Roll out of privacy programs and policies across Vonage and related enterprise entities
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of effectiveness of privacy policies and controls
  • Creating Vonage and related enterprise entities privacy requirements and supporting their implementation
  • Building privacy into products and services through proactive privacy impact assessments of new products and services and corporate functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance)
  • Supporting commercial and CMT teams by providing privacy advice and negotiating relevant data protection agreements with resellers, suppliers, vendors, and customers
  • Monitoring, communicating, and adjusting to developments in global privacy legal frameworks as well as in relevant industry best practices and standards
  • Identifying strategic opportunities and communicating them to relevant business teams
  • Promoting and maintaining privacy awareness across Vonage and delivering effective, role-based privacy training programs
  • Managing consultants and outside counsel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation, public speaking, and people skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Persistence to drive change over time
  • Results-oriented, proactive, responsible, pragmatic, and ethical person with a passion for privacy and interest in technologies and their societal impact
  • Experience with communication platforms as a service (CPaaS) and APIs a plus
  • CIPP/E certified at a minimum, and other CIPP and privacy certifications a plus
