Summary

Join Airtable's dynamic team as a Sr. Manager of Commissions, leading and transforming our incentive compensation operations. You will oversee the Commissions team, collaborating with various departments to enhance efficiency and scalability. This role requires strategic thinking for long-term growth and effective tactical execution. You will identify process improvements, drive change, and achieve outstanding operational results, ensuring timely and accurate commission payouts and enhancing business insights. The position demands strong leadership, collaboration, and a proven track record in scaling incentive compensation operations. We are seeking a strategic thinker with experience in leading and growing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • Minimum 7+ years of work experience in a sales operations or finance role handling sales compensation, with at least 3 years in a people management role
  • Strong knowledge of sales compensation design, implementation, and operations, understanding of accounting principles and general ledger activities
  • Proficiency in ICM systems (preferably CaptivateIQ or similar), CRM systems (preferably Salesforce or similar), ERP systems (preferably Workday or similar) and MS Excel / Google Sheets
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with heads of partnering functions, including deal desk, revenue operations, people, legal, and payroll teams to ensure smooth and effective operations
  • Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commission team, ensuring day-to-day operations are efficient and effective
  • Foster a high-performance culture and motivate team members to exceed targets
  • Partner with revenue operations during plan design cycles to craft best-in-class compensation plans that align to company objectives
  • Collaborate with legal to draft letters and distribute
  • Lead the commissions team’s end-to-end process for calculation of incentive compensation for all participants globally, ensuring calculations are performed accurately and timely
  • Manage the team’s handling of all inquiries and escalations regarding plan operation and payout results
  • Lead financial accounting for commissions, including managing the monthly close process, reviewing accrual journals, performing ASC 606 / 340-40 diligence for cost deferrals and amortization, reviewing account reconciliations, flux analysis, and supporting internal & external audits as necessary
  • Act as business owner for CaptivateIQ, Airtable’s incentive compensation management platform, defining success outcomes, system requirements, and overseeing system configuration efforts
  • Drive process enhancements and automation projects, working cross-functionally with deal desk, order management, sales, legal, and enterprise technology teams to streamline operations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in high-growth enterprise SaaS or technology public companies is highly desirable

  • For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is: $180,000 — $254,900 USD
  • For all other work locations (including remote), the base salary range for this role is: $162,000 — $230,200 USD
