Summary
Join Guild as a Senior Manager, Creative and lead the design team in creating high-quality work for a purposeful brand. You will manage individual contributors, strategize and execute designs, and solve complex visual problems. Responsibilities include optimizing workflow, providing coaching and art direction, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving the evolution of Guild's visual language. You will also support team operations, advocate for design decisions, and manage external agencies. The ideal candidate has 5-7+ years of leadership experience in brand teams, advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, and experience mentoring designers. Guild offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $115,000-140,000 and stock options, along with various benefits.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of leadership experience in high functioning, creatively excellent brand teams, ideally both in-house and agency-side, working on top tier brands and managing multiple stakeholders
- Advanced in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects; advanced in Figma
- Experience managing and mentoring designers while fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and a strong design aesthetic
Responsibilities
- Drive workflow optimization and team engagement by implementing and optimizing tools, including AI, and scaling new processes to enhance efficiency and impact
- Provide coaching, guidance, and art direction across creative work and foster a dynamic and positive environment for the entire team
- Effectively collaborate and partner with stakeholders and senior leadership, acting as a steward of the brand and a subject matter expert, demonstrating accountability and creative leadership in service of business goals
- Drive the strategic evolution of Guild's visual language and design system, leveraging data, competitive insights, and market trends to strategically uplevel creative output
- Support the operational excellence of the team through project intake and resourcing across creative requests, and collaborate with project management to ensure delivery
- Advocate for design decisions and foster a culture of education and learning across presentations, feedback, critiques, and reviews
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills through actionable direction and feedback, driving best practices and maintaining quality standards
- Manage brand and asset libraries, documentation, and team resources to provide the team with the tools and support needed for successful creative execution
- Help manage external agencies and vendors where needed to oversee outsourced creative development
- Manage and support team, including contractors
Preferred Qualifications
- Late-stage startup experience preferred
- Video, motion, web, and animation experience is a strong plus but not required
