Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience in public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing grant-funded projects or program initiatives, with demonstrated success in program implementation
  • Experience managing grant funded projects toward the completion of deliverables
  • Advanced project management skills, including familiarity with methodologies like Agile or Lean
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and sustain relationships
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive results
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of clients and stakeholders
  • Exceptional administrative abilities including excellent attention to detail; assuring all details of assigned tasks are accomplished; following procedures; keeping accurate/ up-to-date records and organization
  • Must be results-oriented, displaying accountability and achievement orientation in meeting goals
  • Advanced analytical skills including the ability to comprehend and make inferences from technical, statistical, and written materials; excellent problem-solving
  • Advanced technical skills; maintaining state-of-the-art knowledge of advances in the field

Responsibilities

  • Guide the implementation of grant-funded programs, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and organizational goals
  • Provide thought leadership in refining and improving implementation processes
  • Oversee the development of tools and resources to support program implementation
  • Identify opportunities to maximize results and exercise decision-making authority and autonomy in resolving implementation challenges
  • Manage the implementation of multiple grants utilizing project management processes and tools to ensure that the work is completed on-time, on-budget, and to the satisfaction of funder expectations
  • Create and review action plans and project documents submitted by agencies for clarity, alignment, and feasibility
  • Proactively address challenges in implementation by working collaboratively to find solutions
  • Act as a liaison between BBBSA and BBBS agencies, ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding of program objectives
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and follow-up on action items
  • Facilitate peer learning and knowledge sharing across the network to promote best practices
  • Serve as a resource to others within BBBSA and across the network to build knowledge of grant status, deliverables, and lessons learned
  • Synthesize data and feedback from program activities to identify trends and lessons learned
  • Lead the preparation of reports highlighting grant progress, successes, and recommendations for future improvements
  • Serve as a resource for sharing insights across the network and driving increased investments
  • Manage staff and provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to the grants implementation team and others across the organization
  • Foster collaboration and accountability among team members
  • Support the effectiveness of the program and impact department and BBBSA through other duties as assigned
  • Recruit, train, retain, and cultivate professional development of direct reports
  • Create a dynamic, supportive, and effective team that is impactful across the BBBSA and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Network
  • Lead and manage resources (people and capital) that retains and cultivates positive, measurable success
  • Monitor progress against performance targets; implement countermeasures as needed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to BBBSAโ€™s shared leadership competencies and organizational values
  • Provide consistent follow-up regarding assigned projects and after meetings
  • Cultivate an environment where all team members feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their potential
  • Manage related and other duties as assigned in support of department and business needs

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of youth development programs and their implementation at the local level
