Summary

Join InStride as a Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting and scale our revenue and billing functions while driving automation and process efficiency. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in revenue accounting, including a blend of Big 4 expertise and high-growth SaaS or tech industry experience
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP revenue recognition principles, with experience applying them in a high-growth, evolving business environment
  • Advanced proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, along with experience implementing and optimizing revenue automation tools (e.g., RevPro, Zuora, or similar platforms) to drive efficiency
  • Proven ability to assess, design, and enhance revenue and billing processes to improve accuracy, automation, and scalability in a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex revenue arrangements, identify discrepancies, and develop solutions that enhance financial reporting and compliance
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Google Drive, with expertise in building financial models, revenue analytics, and reporting dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to lead revenue accounting initiatives, working closely with finance, sales, operations, and technology teams to drive alignment and execution
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting concepts into business insights and influence key stakeholders
  • 3-5 years of people management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex revenue accounting processes, transactions, and reconciliations during month-end close cycles
  • Lead revenue technology transformation initiatives and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Scale and automate revenue and billing functions to support company growth
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with US GAAP ASC 606 and SOX
  • Develop and manage revenue note disclosures for audited financial statements
  • Support tax apportionment calculations for partnership tax returns
  • Oversee and maintain financial systems, including NetSuite, Avalara, Paystand, and Chargebee
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and accountability
  • Provide strategic insights through ad hoc analyses to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support international expansion, system implementations, and data quality improvements
  • Manage external consultants as required
