Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in UX/product design, with at least 2+ years leading and mentoring other designers in a fast-paced, cross-functional product environment with direct product design experience, not only visual design
  • Deep experience mentoring leaders and supporting UX managers and senior team members
  • Demonstrated ability to drive user-centered design strategy across complex product ecosystems, balancing business objectives with user needs
  • Strong systems thinking and experience shaping cohesive experiences across multiple touchpoints and product surfaces
  • Expertise in establishing and scaling design processes, quality standards, and reusable patterns within growing product organizations and being a champion for the practice of UX design and raising the profile of the team internally and externally
  • Hands-on experience implementing comprehensive design systems, balancing consistency, flexibility, and efficiency
  • Skilled communicator and storyteller with the ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for design excellence at multiple levels of the organization through strong case study presentation skills
  • Extreme comfort with leading a team through uncertainty and ambiguity and setting teams up for maximum success in the face of frequent change
  • Has a high level of skill in managing UX teams to strategy-aligned outcomes and can be a strong internal champion for strategic imperatives as established primarily by our CEO and executive leadership team

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to UX designers, fostering a culture of design excellence, collaboration, and innovation
  • Guide your team through changes and uncertainties while keeping them motivated and aligned
  • Define and communicate a cohesive design strategy that aligns with company objectives, ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience across an interconnected suite of products
  • Maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing leaders to align UX strategy with business goals and user needs
  • Champion research-driven design practices, ensuring that insights and data are meaningfully integrated into product decisions and design iterations at every stage of development
  • Establish and uphold scalable design principles, processes, and standards to drive consistency and quality across all product experiences
  • Lead design planning and execution for complex, cross-product user journeys, offering hands-on guidance to designers navigating ambiguity and high-impact problem spaces
  • Facilitate strategic design reviews and critiques, promoting a feedback-rich culture
  • Steer the evolution and governance of the Design System, ensuring it remains robust, scalable, and consistently implemented across the product landscape
  • Advocate for UX at the senior leadership level, communicating the value and impact of user-centered design while influencing broader business and product strategy
