Senior Network Engineer in Worldwide

Summary

The job is for a Senior Network Engineer at EverOps, a premier consulting partner that helps innovative companies overcome their toughest DevOps and IT challenges. The role involves managing projects autonomously, understanding enterprise IT systems and cloud infrastructure, and working with a team to manage multiple customers’ production cloud environments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in networking and at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• SRE Experience: Infrastructure automation, metrics, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs
• In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing
• Proficiency in cloud services across multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and cloud management tools, such as AWS CLI and Azure PowerShell
• Familiarity with security best practices, such as access control, encryption, and monitoring
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog
• Experience with Infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN, across multiple cloud platforms
• Configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud computing services across multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Configure and maintain cloud services, such as VPC, security groups, and IAM, across multiple cloud platforms
• Ensure security and compliance of the network infrastructure and cloud services across multiple cloud platforms
• Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and perform regular backups
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security, to ensure smooth operations of the network and cloud services across multiple cloud platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with observability tools, specifically Datadog
• Industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or equivalent are a plus)
• Experience with source control, build management, monitoring, configuration management, log management, and scripting/web languages (Bash, etc.)
• Strong desire to learn new technologies
• Industry certifications (AWS, Red Hat, Hashicorp, Google Cloud, etc.)
• Experience in SaaS companies and startup environments
