Summary
Join our Digital Product Engineering company as a Network Engineer and contribute to the design, delivery, security, and operation of our global network and security infrastructure. You will install, maintain, and support network and security infrastructure devices, troubleshoot complex issues, and administer data security policies. This role requires collaboration with various IT functions and end-users, leading small projects, and working with vendors. You will also evaluate and implement new technologies, ensuring optimal system performance and uptime. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Location is Japan.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferable in a computer-related field with 3 to 5 years' experience in Network and Security technologies
- Cisco network experience working extensively with Cisco IOS and NX-OS, Cisco network design, TAC support experience, and deployment of Cisco LAN Catalyst and Nexus, WAN ISR and ASR products
- Routing and Performance Experience Implementation and Troubleshooting of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and QoS/CoS Policies
- Troubleshooting Complex LAN and WAN routing, spanning tree and general network health problems
- Experience in dealing with Service Providers for overseeing Layer 1, 2, 3 issues
- Customer service skills Experience in working with an Enterprise Ticketing system such as ServiceNow, managing incident SLA's and handling customer communications in a polite and detailed manner either via the ticketing system, chat tool or by phone
- Effective English written and oral communication skills
- Experience within the following areas: LAN/WAN/WLAN, Internet, Remote Access, Firewalls, Proxy, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), PAM (Privileged Access Management) NAC (Network Access Control), Network monitoring solutions
- Experience with Cloud technologies and providers
Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and support of Network and Security Infrastructure device system software and hardware
- Analytics, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex Network and Security Infrastructure issues including on premise and cloud environments
- Administer the application of company data security policies
- Provide Network and Security Infrastructure support for all other IT functions and end users as required
- Complete project tasks and lead small technical projects
- Serve as a contact to vendors
- Make recommendations for improving system performance and uptime
- New technology evaluation and implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of switching to CCNP level preferred
- Cisco Certifications CCNP or equivalent Preferred
- Ability to handle major problems and respond professionally to senior management and customers
- Organizational awareness and understanding of how service stability can be maximized through leveraging technology and process enhancements
- Can identify the specific functions, responsibilities, key customers and relationships of own department/function
- Knowledge of analytic techniques and methods
- Understanding of project and change management processes
- Flexibility and willingness to travel globally
- Ability to work within a global organization
