Summary

Join Grafana Labs' People Analytics team as a Data Analyst to build and maintain data infrastructure and tooling, driving strategy and roadmap prioritization. Collaborate with various People Team functions and the Data & Analytics department. Develop and manage dbt models, create self-service dashboards, and serve as a strategic partner, shaping the people analytics roadmap and defining KPIs. The role requires experience in people analytics, SQL, data visualization, working with people data from various sources, and dbt models. Excellent communication skills are essential. The position offers equity and a bonus (if applicable), along with other benefits.

Requirements

  • Experience partnering across people, business and data/analytics organizations, and familiarity with typical people analytics metrics, KPIs and analysis
  • SQL: writing complex yet efficient SQL is a daily habit for you
  • Data Visualization: experience with any of the following tools Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Mode, Hex, or of course, Grafana!
  • Experience working with people data from various sources/systems, writing dbt models, and code version control (git)
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences, and maintain many of the essential cross-team and cross-functional relationships necessary for the team’s success

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across the People Team, business and Data & Analytics department to understand analytics needs and translate them into scalable solutions
  • Build and maintain scalable, high-quality data pipelines and processes for People Analytics reporting, automations, and ultimately insights
  • Develop and manage dbt models to transform and test our people data in partnership with our Analytics Engineering team
  • Create and automate clear, actionable, self-service dashboards for the People Team and business leadership
  • Serve as a strategic partner and subject matter expert across the People Team and broader business to shape the people analytics roadmap, define KPIs, and guide long-term strategy
