In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, driving functional change, business success, and employee engagement. You will lead efforts in workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning. The ideal candidate will have extensive HRBP experience supporting senior leaders in high-growth startups, particularly in EdTech or AI. Requirements
- 6+ years of progressive People/HRBP experience, including at least 3 years supporting senior leaders and executives
- Must have directly supported 200 employees as a part of their HRBP role at a prior company with specific experience supporting Engineering, Product, and Design functions
- Must have experience in high-growth, scaling startups, preferably in Edtech or AI companies
- Prior experience as first HRBP on team required
- Strong understanding of business operations, organizational design and effectiveness, and how to implement performance management initiatives at a company that did not previously have this
- Must be data-driven: analytical mindset and comfortable using data to diagnose issues and guide decision-making
- Must have deep knowledge of employment laws, leave guidelines, and HR best practices
Responsibilities
- Serve as the internal advisor to senior managers and department leads, as well as employees, to support organizational health, team effectiveness, and manager capability
- Lead efforts including workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning within supported functions
- Coach managers on team dynamics, performance issues, and engagement strategies
- Provide HR insights with data to interpret analysis, ask critical questions, and present recommendations and insights to senior leaders
- Partner with VP, People to drive core People programs (e.g. compensation review, promotions, performance cycles, etc) in partnership with internal stakeholders
- Advises senior leadership on org design, team structure, and change management
- Proactively use people metrics (attrition, engagement, promotion rates, time-in-role, etc) to inform recommendations and challenge assumptions
- Coach managers through complex performance issues, including documentation, PIPs, and terminations with risk mitigation in mind
- Lead action planning for engagement survey results and track outcomes over time, in partnership with Director, Organizational Effectiveness and VP, People
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience partnering across functions to implement technology to better support the growth and output of teams, highly preferred
