Remote Senior Piping Designer

Summary

Join iParametrics as a Senior Piping Designer and lead the design of piping systems for projects in various industries. This remote position offers flexibility and travel as needed. You will utilize your expertise in AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar software to lead projects, manage teams, and develop piping drawings. Requirements

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting, or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design
• Knowledge and application of piping materials
• Knowledge and application of piping supports and restraints
• Knowledge of manual valve sizing, use, and application
• Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment
• Ability to create accurate mechanical/piping installation documents from vendor equipment drawings
• Understanding of workflow/information flow between disciplines
• Understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all mechanical/piping deliverables
• Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks
• Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to work effectively in virtual teams and develop cross-divisional relationships, providing interoffice execution support under general supervision

Responsibilities

• Expertise in design and drafting standards, preferably in Process Industrial facilities and/or Life Science facilities
• Leading projects, including defining project scope, specifications, and design criteria
• Leading a team of designers
• Developing and drafting moderately complex piping drawings using basic information such as P&ID’s, GA’s, piping specifications, and equipment drawings
• Performing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel, and assist in construction
• Preparing material take-offs from piping drawings
• Planning and managing site design activities for optimum results
• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly
• Providing on-site assistance during startup
