Senior Automation QA Engineer

Summary

Join Mindera as a Senior Test Strategist/Automation Engineer and take ownership of test strategy, automation efficiency, and quality assurance across our software ecosystem. This role demands deep technical expertise in BDD test automation (Java) and the ability to optimize existing test suites. Requirements

• Technical Expertise in BDD & Test Automation
• Strong experience writing BDD tests in Java
• Ability to review, refactor, and improve an existing large test base for efficiency and effectiveness
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks playwright
• Comfortable working with API testing tools (e.g. Postman, Rest Assured) and performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter)
• Experience defining and implementing test strategies for large-scale systems
• Knowledge of best practices in test automation, CI/CD, and test-driven development (TDD)
• Strong ability to communicate test quality, risk, and strategy to both technical teams and business stakeholders
• Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to product owners, engineering leads, and leadership teams
• Experience working in an agile environment with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to diagnose test bottlenecks, speed up test execution, and improve test reliability
• Strong analytical skills to prioritise test cases based on business impact

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of test strategy, automation efficiency, and quality assurance across software ecosystem
• Optimize existing test suite and drive best practices in test automation and strategy
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance test coverage, improve execution speed, and ensure our testing aligns with real user behavior
• Define and implement test strategies for large-scale systems
• Assess test coverage gaps, improve automation efficiency, and recommend changes based on real user behaviour
• Communicate test quality, risk, and strategy to both technical teams and business stakeholders
• Present findings and recommendations to product owners, engineering leads, and leadership teams
• Diagnose test bottlenecks, speed up test execution, and improve test reliability
• Prioritise test cases based on business impact

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices testing and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with AI-driven testing tools or performance engineering
