Senior QA Lead

Summary

Join Halo, an international interactive media agency, as a QA Lead and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our products. You will provide comprehensive oversight of QA efforts, applying best practices, innovating testing solutions, and establishing key performance metrics. This role involves mentoring junior QAs, managing risk, and communicating with stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and executing test strategies, managing test plans, and driving the evolution of QA processes. The position requires significant experience in QA and team leadership. Halo offers a fully remote work environment with payments in USD and the opportunity to work with an international team.

Requirements

• Be proficient in testing web and client-server applications
• Understand NoSQL concepts and SQL-based testing
• Have 3+ years of quality assurance and test engineering experience
• Have 2+ years of experience Leading teams of QAs (or being the main point of contact for the team)
• Have experience ensuring software QA practices related to design and code reviews
• Be able to oversee the development of System and Integration Test plans
• Be proficient in creating test plans, test cases, test data, and traceability matrices
• Have experience in capturing, reviewing, prioritizing, and triaging defects
• Be able to report to Delivery Lead and track overall status and QA governance/QA Manager
• Have experience in onshore and offshore coordination
• Have a strong understanding of software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

Responsibilities

• Identify, communicate, and vigilantly track quality risks, gaps, and issues
• Keep stakeholder groups informed about testing progress and steer triage meetings
• Scrutinize and validate software and business requirements
• Maintain a clear traceability path from requirements to functional tests and defect lists
• Create insightful metrics to gauge and oversee product performance
• Establish, document, and elevate QA processes, offering guidance to team members
• Define quality metrics and measure test effectiveness and efficiency
• Take the lead in planning and executing tests for admin system conversions
• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies across diverse products and platforms
• Cultivate a culture of quality in engineering to expedite product releases with unwavering confidence
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality facets of releases
• Develop, maintain, and operationalize test plans
• Drive the evolution of QA processes to bolster testing scalability
• Collaborate effectively with engineers and project leads to prioritize and manage issues
• Report and track defects, coordinate with developers to resolve issues, and ensure timely defect closure
• Manage training programs such as Bootcamps or internal courses
• Guide and mentor fellow QA teammates and level up Junior and Trainee QAs

Preferred Qualifications

• Have additional certifications or training in quality assurance and testing methodologies
• Have previous experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Have experience with Accessibility Testing
• Be proficient in test automation frameworks and tools
• Have exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
• Have outstanding communication and leadership abilities
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
