Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Masterโ€™s or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with some experience leading a small team in an IC leadership or EM capacity
  • You're just as energized diving into architecture, writing clean, scalable code, and solving challenging technical problems as you are mentoring engineers, shaping team culture, and driving delivery
  • You know when to roll up your sleeves and when to empower othersโ€”and you're equally excited to do both
  • You can work comfortably with a cross-functional team of PMs, Analysts, and mobile and back-end-focused engineers
  • You have led a team that regularly created high-quality output on top of critical infrastructure
  • You are a creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude
  • You tend to be the standard bearer who takes a great deal of pride in your work and can inspire others to rise to the occasion
  • You can create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work

Responsibilities

  • Be a strong partner to product and other engineering teams to drive improvements to business metrics and build new features
  • Examples include improving user acquisition metrics, cross-selling and upselling products, and improving user experience
  • Drive the design and implementation of new product areas and features
  • Break down complex problems into their bare essentials, translate this complexity into elegant design, and create high-quality, maintainable code
  • Guide your team through ambiguity and ensure technical excellence through rapid experimentation cycles
  • Guide your team to strong execution โ€”make pragmatic decisions, and guide teams to launch MVPs quickly and iterate based on feedback
  • Lead team through frequent pivots and evolving priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Recruit other great engineers for your team and help in the recruiting efforts for different teams
  • Be a mentor and coach for the engineers on your team
  • Help them advance their careers by enabling them to do the best work of their lives
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products
