You will optimize and scale database infrastructure, implement monitoring and performance tuning solutions, develop automated tooling, and transition to broader SRE responsibilities. The ideal candidate possesses 8+ years of relevant experience, deep expertise with PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora, proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, and experience with highly available and scalable database solutions. You will be responsible for optimizing database performance and troubleshooting complex issues. Requirements

• You have 8+ years of relevant experience in SRE, DevOps, or Database Administration roles
• You have deep expertise with scaling and administering PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora in production environment
• You're proficient with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js development
• You have experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable database solutions
• You're comfortable optimizing database performance at scale and implementing best practices
• You have a strong engineering background with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues

Responsibilities

• Optimize and scale our database infrastructure for high performance, focusing initially on PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora
• Implement database monitoring, performance tuning, and scaling solutions to support our growing platform needs
• Develop and maintain database optimization strategies to improve overall system performance and reliability
• Create automated tooling for database management with an eye for consistency and repeatability
• Transition into broader SRE responsibilities after the initial database focus, based on your skillset and team needs
• Analyze our current database architecture and identify opportunities for performance optimization
• Develop enhanced database monitoring and alerting capabilities to improve observability
• Implement solutions to optimize database queries and improve application performance
• Begin collaborating with development teams to establish database best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt
• Knowledge of Prisma and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks
• Experience with containerization technologies and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with RedShift or other data warehouses
