Summary
Join Airbnb's Host Pricing & Tools team as a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM)! Collaborate with technical leaders to deliver major programs for guests and hosts, focusing on best-in-class host tools. You will develop and manage comprehensive project plans, aligning stakeholders and defining success criteria. This role requires strong analytical skills, influencing abilities, and experience in cross-functional software engineering. The position is US-remote eligible with occasional office work. Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions. You can take a vague problem, crisply frame the challenge, identify a path forward, and drive an initiative over the finish-line
- Self-motivated, proactive and proven ability to adapt well and work with teams having different operating cadences
- Sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a track record of taking ownership, leading data driven analyses, and influencing results
- Experience working directly as a TPM across a cross-functional software engineering organization delivering multiple software projects in parallel
- Ability to ramp up quickly and learn new technologies with minimal lag time
- Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- At least 13 years of work experience, with at least 11 years as a TPM or relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans to execute on Initiatives, identify key milestones and ensure alignment across stakeholders
- Think both broadly about overall outcomes while using good judgment on where to focus in on details
- Influence the technical direction of projects to meet the stakeholders’ needs while upholding quality. Quickly validate project ideas through iterative development, and pivot as necessary
- Define and align on success criteria for both short term and long term business goals, regularly assessing risks and opportunities and identifying mitigation strategies
- Manage effective communication channels to keep a wider range of stakeholders updated on the progress
- Showcase the work in front of senior leaders, clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and opportunities
