Our Senior Technical Operations Engineer will provide technical operations expertise and thought leadership towards our core mission of empowering individuals, corporations, universities, public sector, and health insurance companies to use technology in a simple but powerful way to give them greater control of their healthcare needs.
Requirements
- BS or MSc in Computer Science (or related technical discipline) or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a DevOps, TechOps, or Site Reliability Engineering role at a technology firm
- Proficient in working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Terraform
- Extensive Experience using Continuous Integration systems (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins)
- Must have fundamental working knowledge of SQL
- Proficiency in SRE concepts
- Excellent understanding of application monitoring / SIEM tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Zabbix
- Solid understanding of cloud computing technologies and cloud platform architectures, as well as proficiency in scripting and automation tools (AWS preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A technically savvy individual with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and the drive to stay up to date with the latest technology trends
- Experience in Kafka and Kubernetes
Responsibilities
- Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity for the team
- Respond to reported / escalated support incident in a timely manner
- Monitor applications for abnormalities and propose areas of improvement process
- Intelligently articulate complex technical concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Ability to operate and progress under minimal supervision
- Collaborate with developers to ensure that operations are aligned with the design and development
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical after-hours incidents
- Work closely with multiple teams and members of the TechOps team to rollout automated processes
- Create / Maintain documentation (runbooks) our systems
- Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status
- Evangelize reliability practices within LetsGetCheckedβs Technology organization (SLIs, golden signals, error budgets, etc)
- Training and mentoring of other members of the team
- Identification of gaps in monitoring and alerting to be provided to software development teams
