Senior Training Specialist

Summary

fusionSpan is seeking a Training Specialist and Instructional Designer to join their team either remotely or at Headquarters in Rockville, MD. The role involves delivering virtual training, developing content, maintaining the LMS, and improving processes. Required qualifications include 2-5+ years of experience as a trainer/instructor, instructional design, high proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite, technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, strong work ethic, team player, and some experience with a Learning Management System (LMS). Preferred qualifications include experience with Salesforce CRM, experience in the consulting field, experience conducting virtual webinar-based training, experience in developing scripts, storyboards, producing training videos, technology industry experience, and experience with eLearning development tools such as Camtasia, Captivate. Requirements

• 2-5+ years of experience as a trainer/instructor, teacher, or relevant related field
• 2-5+ years of experience in instructional design and courseware development
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite or similar programs
• Technical aptitude, ability to quickly learn how to use products, and enthusiasm for technology
• Adept at communicating in a precise, clear, constructive manner to diverse stakeholders, subject matter experts, and community of learners
• Skilled at developing training interventions, even when initial project requirements may be unclear and existing documentation limited
• Proven excellent communication skills--verbal, written, and presentation
• Attention to detail, with excellent proofreading/editing, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, amid varied, competing priorities
• Must have an excellent work ethic, be a strong team player and consistently meet project deadlines
• Some experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
• Bachelor’s degree in Education/Training, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or commensurate experience in lieu of formal education

Responsibilities

• Deliver virtual training for both internal staff and fusionSpan customers
• Develop and update content for client implementation projects and internal programs
• Design lessons incorporating creativity, flexibility, and innovation in course design
• Develop video scripts, storyboards, and record, produce, and edit training videos
• Produce screenshots, flowcharts, and other graphics
• Create required job aids, templates, and reference materials supporting the platform
• Revise documentation to incorporate product updates and enhancements requested by customers and internal users
• Assist with the development of curriculum for new courses
• Assist with review and editing of new courses and content to ensure usability in a variety of platforms
• Proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency of language and style, as well as the correct application of templates
• Understand business priorities and proactively look for ways to improve processes to create efficiency and scale
• Interface professionally with stakeholders, business partners, and other internal employees and external clients
• Perform other related duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Some experience with Salesforce CRM preferred
• Experience in the consulting field preferred
• Experience conducting virtual webinar-based training is strongly preferred
• Experience in developing scripts, storyboards, and producing training videos; technology industry experience strongly preferred (Familiarity with eLearning development tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, or similar)
