Senior Transmission Engineer

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, planning, or operations
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
• Experience with power flow modeling tools (e.g., Siemens PSS®E, PowerGem TARA, GE PSLF, PowerWorld Simulator)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Comfortable working with remote teammates
• Ability to work in a small team
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Scope, run, and automate studies using power flow models and other tools in support of prospecting new BESS development projects across relevant geographic areas
• Lead scoping and interpretation of third-party power flow studies
• Produce internal memos on costs and upgrades associated with existing development projects
• Support team scoping and execution of studies using production cost models to support broad market theses, commercial opportunities such as RFPs and RFIs, and short-term price forecasting
• Build and maintain internal work aides and software automation to assist with above responsibilities
• Plan and execute analytical projects
• All other duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering
• Experience running interconnection studies or transmission planning studies
• Experience in Python and SQL
