Summary

Join MoCaFi's Product team as a Senior UX/UI Designer for a 9-month contract (with possible extension) to design, develop, and maintain client and web enrollment portals. You will lead the design process, conduct user research, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role requires strong UX/UI skills, experience with design tools, and knowledge of web accessibility standards. This remote (or hybrid NYC) position offers a competitive hourly rate and a supportive, inclusive work environment with flexible time off.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Centered Design and/or seven (7) years of experience, preferably in a startup environment
  • 5+ years of design experience using Figma
  • 5+ years leading and developing a team
  • Knowledge of responsive design, user-centered design, interaction design, and UI/UX principles
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Scrum Agile development process
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, FigJam, Miro, Visio, or similar tools
  • Proficiency in Confluence, JIRA, or similar project management tracking system
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and thinking
  • Must be permanently located and authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the user interface (UI) for our client portals that allow clients to securely log in and view the status of the program and enroll new users
  • Lead the design process for portals from end-to-end
  • Design Lo-Fi & Hi-Fi comps and prototypes for optimal user engagement
  • Conduct research, testing, and design thinking activities to understand customer and client needs
  • Develop Information Architecture, navigation, labeling, and search functions
  • Ensure consistency in design and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Gather and understand business requirements, legal impacts, and KPIs to deliver and measure success
  • Lead Design Thinking and collaboration activities, which include but aren’t limited to Service Blueprints, Customer Journeys, Personas, workflows, whiteboarding, card sorting, etc
  • Present design progress and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Collaborate with Content Designers, Marketing, and Legal to ensure designs are compliant and consistent across various platforms and materials
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Data & Analytics, and the Fraud team to define, validate, and plan the portal's development, ensuring it's flexible and scalable to meet future business needs
  • Facilitate decision-making between business stakeholders and development teams
  • Conduct concept, usability, and A/B testing to improve portal performance
  • Create new design components and provide ongoing portal support
  • Manage competing priorities and ensure deadlines are met
  • Apply visual accessibility standards like contrast, font sizes, etc… to portal designs
  • Stay updated on the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies
