Senior Vice President, Engineering

Join Brandwatch, a Cision product, as the Vice President of Engineering, leading a remote, globally distributed software development team for Brandwatch CI and Insights products. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 8 years in a leadership role and 3+ years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record of managing large-scale SaaS development projects. Remote team leadership preferred
• Strong technical acumen with full stack experience, with a strong preference for experience in big data, data science and machine learning
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing engineering talent
• Ability to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration
• Experience in strategic planning and execution, with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges
• A strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture
• Ability to perform in a fast paced, frequently evolving environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products
• Establish project timelines, allocate resources, monitor progress to meet deadlines, and communicate status
• Provide oversight of the overall technology stack and product architecture to ensure scalability, flexibility, and sustainability
• Ensure adherence to best practices in software development and architecture. Lead a data driven approach to performance and delivery, establishing KPIs that help the organization understand the impact and performance of engineering
• Serve as a strong partner to Product Management, Design and Operations, ensuring alignment between engineering and business objectives
• Collaborate with executive leadership to define long-term technology vision and goals
• Maintain and grow a strong engineering leadership team. Lead, mentor, and manage remote, globally distributed software engineering teams
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Foster a One-Team culture across Product, Engineering and Design
• Lead initiatives for process improvements and automation to streamline operations, managing teams through change with transparency and clear expectations
• Respected as a technology and people leader, able to provide both technical and management guidance to your org. Identify potential risks related to software development and implement mitigation strategies to address them proactively
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization
