Social Media Video Fellow

Summary

Join Business Insider's Audience team as a Social Media Video Fellow for a six-month paid fellowship. This role focuses on distributing videos across various social media platforms, ensuring maximum reach and engagement. You will be responsible for uploading and distributing fresh videos daily, creating compelling headlines and descriptions, generating thumbnails, and ensuring timely distribution of breaking news. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and experience with social media platforms. The fellowship is hybrid, requiring at least two days a week in the New York City office. This is a paid role with benefits including PTO, paid holidays, and eligibility for medical, dental, and vision benefits.

Requirements

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• The ability to communicate clearly about their time management
• Work experience with one or more social media platforms
• Experience in packaging stories for publication

Responsibilities

• Upload and distribute fresh videos daily across all Business Insider channels on social platforms, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok
• Generate compelling headlines, copy, and descriptions that grab the audience's attention and convey the essence of the video or story
• Create thumbnails using Photoshop to optimize visual appeal and click-through rates
• Ensure timely distribution of breaking news videos and stories across relevant social channels

Preferred Qualifications

• A passion for digital storytelling and voracious reading habits
• Familiarity with digital and social media
• The ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team
• Proofreading and copyediting skills
• A love of Business Insider and our mission to serve readers with the information and inspiration they need in a way that’s accurate, fair, fast, and fun
