Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer on Granica's Platform Engineering Team who will focus on building scalable data services. The role requires at least 4 years of software engineering experience, proficiency in certain programming languages, and experience with distributed storage systems.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience in a mission-critical production environment
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Go, C++, Rust, or similar
• Experience working with Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, or similar distributed storage systems
• Knowledge of system profiling and distributed cache implementations
• Comfortability with documentation, design, databases, systems development, multi-threaded development, and memory and performance optimization
• Experience with building systems that support machine learning and AI services
• Ability to work three days per week in our beautiful Mountain View, CA HQ or in one of our regional hubs which include Austin, TX or New York, NY

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize large-scale, high-throughput, distributed systems within production environments
• Translate enterprise-level use cases and performance requirements for read and write paths into programming specifications
• Develop responsive systems that scale according to customer demand and traffic
• Collaborate with research and machine learning teams, new product engineering, and infrastructure engineering to deploy products
• Troubleshoot system issues and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation with platform engineering colleagues
