Summary
Join Pulumi as a customer-focused Solutions Architect to champion its cloud programming model in pre-sales engagements. As a technical lead, you will partner with sales, guiding prospects through discovery, solution design, and proof of value. You will work with advanced cloud engineering teams, helping them adopt modern Infrastructure as Code practices. This remote-first role, based in Germany, requires 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, or consulting, focusing on designing and presenting complex cloud architectures. You will need proficiency in at least one programming language and strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and open source technologies. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, or consulting, with a focus on designing and presenting complex cloud architectures involving infrastructure-as-code, DevOps practices, and modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, in enterprise customer environments
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, F#) and ability to create maintainable, reusable code in real-world cloud automation projects
- Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, application modernization patterns, and open source technologies
- Proficiency in at least one Infrastructure-as-Code tool (eg. Pulumi, Terraform, AWS CDK)
- Experience in solution selling methodologies (e.g. MEDDPICC, SPIN, Challenger Sales)
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex customer engagements end-to-end—setting clear expectations, driving alignment across stakeholders, and ensuring successful technical and business outcomes through both proactive planning and responsive problem-solving
- Experience building positive professional relationships with developers and executives
- Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; able to define direction, adapt quickly, and drive initiatives to completion
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to articulate Pulumi’s value, vision, and strategy to enterprise customers
- Own the technical pre-sales process, including discovery, solution design, demos, proof-of-concepts, and securing the technical win
- Technically lead and close complex deals by applying deep competitive insight, technical expertise, and engineering credibility
- Act as a trusted advisor to some of the world’s most advanced cloud and platform engineering teams
- Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demos during customer engagements and industry events
- Serve as the voice of the customer—championing their needs to internal product and engineering teams while effectively positioning Pulumi’s roadmap
- Embrace the challenge of solving complex cloud problems, sharing technical knowledge, and continually raising the bar on customer experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a startup environment or fast-paced technology company
- Public cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with enterprise software sales
