Summary
Join Simulmedia as a Solutions Architect to lead the architectural strategy for our next-generation self-serve TV ad buying platform. Collaborate with engineering, data science, and DevOps leaders to design scalable and maintainable systems for our growing CTV advertising ecosystem. You will leverage your deep experience in modern systems design and cross-functional collaboration to evaluate existing systems, identify modernization opportunities, and guide the platform's evolution. This role requires balancing long-term scalability with near-term delivery and involves working in Kyiv or Lviv, Ukraine with a remote-first team. The position offers full flexibility to work from either city, with occasional team meetings in the office. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who thrives on bringing clarity to complexity and designing scalable solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including senior-level contributions to systems architecture in a SaaS or product-led environment
- Strong experience designing distributed systems, API architectures, and cloud-native applications
- Ability to assess and document existing systems and translate legacy patterns into modern, modular architecture
- Broad technical fluency across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and data—able to guide cross-functional conversations
- Experience balancing technical decision-making with business and product context
- Skilled at breaking down complexity and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working 11 am – 8 pm EEST for overlap with U.S.-based collaborators
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the technical architecture across backend services, data flows, APIs, and platform integrations
- Partner with engineering, data, science, and DevOps leaders to guide technology selection, architecture patterns, and best practices
- Work across teams to understand, document, and rationalize existing systems, identifying where modernization or replatforming is needed
- Design foundational systems and services for new feature areas, including ad delivery, reporting, and agentic/LLM-powered tools
- Produce architectural artifacts such as diagrams and documentation, to guide decision-making and onboarding
- Support teams with hands-on design reviews, proof-of-concepts, and architectural mentoring
- Align architecture decisions with product roadmap priorities, delivery timelines, and long-term platform goals
- Identify and mitigate risks around scalability, performance, and technical debt, while helping ensure consistency across squads
- Contribute to the company’s technical strategy, bringing a modernization mindset to how we evolve our platform
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ad tech, programmatic advertising, or data-rich SaaS products
- Familiarity with event-driven systems, real-time pipelines, or machine learning architecture
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and modern observability tooling
- Contributions to open-source, technical publications, or system design communities
