Summary

Join CookUnity as a Sourcing Specialist and bridge our culinary vision with operational execution. You will be the primary liaison between our Culinary team and CookUnity vendors, ensuring chefs have access to high-quality and cost-effective ingredients. Responsibilities include sourcing ingredients, identifying and onboarding new suppliers, collaborating with culinary leads, managing sourcing pipelines, maintaining trackers, partnering with other teams, and monitoring supplier performance. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in a related field, a strong understanding of culinary ingredients, experience in a culinary-driven environment, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of sustainable or regional sourcing practices. Requirements

  • 3+ years in food sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or a related field (ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment)
  • Strong understanding of culinary ingredients, especially fresh and specialty items
  • Experience working in a culinary-driven environment (e.g., meal kit, foodservice, hospitality, etc.)
  • Advanced English skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple requests with tight timelines
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive mindset

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Culinary team and the Procurement/Supply Chain teams for ingredient sourcing needs
  • Source ingredients that align with chefs’ recipes and brand quality standards, balancing cost, availability, and seasonality
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers when current vendor offerings fall short
  • Collaborate with culinary leads to understand ingredient functionality, substitutions, and culinary implications
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure ingredient specs, lead times, and quality standards are clearly documented and communicated
  • Manage sourcing pipelines for new menu launches and R&D projects
  • Maintain a live tracker of ingredient needs, sourcing status, and vendor communication logs
  • Partner with the Procurement and Quality teams to ensure timely onboarding of new ingredients and suppliers
  • Monitor supplier and ingredient performance, contribute to corrective action processes when needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sourcing platforms, ERP systems, or procurement software a plus
  • Knowledge of sustainable or regional sourcing practices
