Summary

Join Caylent's growing Accounting & Finance team as a Staff Accountant. Review and process vendor payments, reconcile transactions, manage expense reimbursements, maintain fixed asset schedules, and perform monthly reconciliations. You will also prepare journal entries, analyze expenses, work with the FP&A team, and drive expense reporting processes. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies. Assist with audits and tax return preparation. This role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of US GAAP. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel, Google Sheets or similar, and accounting software

Responsibilities

  • Review and process Vendor Payments & Records and take ownership of Accounts Payable processes
  • Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and reports
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements and corporate travel programs
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Schedules in accordance with GAAP
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Accounts Reconciliation
  • Manage general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare, post and maintain proper records of Journal Entries
  • Estimate, analyze, and record month-end expense accruals to expense ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts
  • Work closely with FP&A team and provide them with monthly variance analysis reports
  • Drive expense reporting process and procure-to-pay process to facilitate close and department expense analysis and is responsible for the results
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assist with the external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information to auditors. Support annual independent audit and regulatory audits as required
  • Assist with preparation of statutory tax returns
  • Intercompany Reconciliation
  • Foreign Exchange Reconciliation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Accounting Manager and Controller

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in General Accounting within small to medium-sized companies
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP (Active or inactive CPA a plus, but not required)
  • Previous B2B and professional services firms industry experience preferred
  • Experience with Certinia (Salesforce) or similar ERP systems experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Excel / Google Sheets analysis and presentation skills
