Summary
Join Prepared's growing Finance team as a Staff Accountant and take ownership of core accounting functions. You will build the financial foundation of this fast-scaling company, impacting the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting and collections. Responsibilities include managing accounts receivable and payable, handling credit card and expense management, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. You will also maintain thorough documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 2-4 years of relevant experience, proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel, and familiarity with ASC 606. The base compensation is approximately $95,000β105,000 per year, plus benefits and equity.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- 2β4 years of experience in GAAP accounting, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth tech environment
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
- Clear communicator with the professionalism to handle vendor and customer interactions (esp. for collections)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; thrives in fast-paced, remote-first environments
Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Apply customer payments, track outstanding balances, and assist with collections efforts
- Collections: Manage collection efforts and outreach. Partner with CSMs for customer communications and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO)
- Accounts Payable (AP): Enter and code vendor bills in our bill pay system, ensuring accurate general ledger classification
- Credit Card and Expense Management: Code corporate credit card expenses and collect corresponding receipts. Review employee-submitted expense reports for proper coding, documentation, and policy compliance
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations. Support journal entry preparation, accruals, and other closing tasks as needed. Assist with audits and tax preparation as needed
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough transaction documentation to support audit readiness and internal controls
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with employees across departments to ensure accurate reporting and timely submissions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ramp or similar AP/expense platforms; exposure to annual audits
