Summary

LastPass is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions for enhancing user safety, security, reliability, and integrity. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work on challenges such as security and trust-centric development, incident response, quality assurance and testing, and collaboration and communication.

Requirements

• Background in computer science, information security, or a related field
• Experience in software engineering with a focus on security, safety, and trust
• Comprehensive understanding of cryptographic principles and secure storage mechanisms
• Knowledge of authentication protocols, access control, and identity management
• Experience with security audits, vulnerability assessments, and incident response
• Capability to devise and execute solutions adhering to security industry best practices, standards, and compliance frameworks
• Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP and C#, with a willingness to acquire new skills and technologies as needed
• Strong problem-solving abilities, collaborative mindset, and proactive approach
• Effective communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholder groups regardless of their backgrounds or technical expertise within LastPass
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust software solutions that enhance user safety, security, reliability, and integrity
• Collaborate with a diverse and talented cross-functional team dedicated to ensuring the security and trustworthiness of LastPass products
• Research, identify, and implement measures that address trust and safety concerns of new and existing LastPass products and services

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP)
• Experience with threat intelligence platforms
• Experience with API abuse detection platforms like Akamai’s or Cloudflare’s Volumetric Abuse Detection solutions
• Experience with penetration testing and ethical hacking
• Experience working with global teams
