Requirements

• Strong foundational knowledge and interest in computer science, including algorithms, abstract data types, data structures, complexity theory, graph theory, statistics, language parsing, and array programming
• Experience in database programming, information retrieval, and key/value stores
• Passion for cutting-edge computer science research, keeping up to date with the latest work by reading and sharing research with your team
• Care about understanding systems in depth, not only using databases to solve problems but knowing how they are implemented
• Proven track record of building and running distributed applications at scale
• Expert in any back end language; however, you’ll be required to write in Go and some Typescript / Node.js
• Able to clearly and concisely communicate technical designs and thinking both verbally and in writing
• Experience working at a product/SaaS company

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and development of valuable product increments
• Lead critical incidents responses and fix our most complex defects
• Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through peer-reviewing others’ work, testing code, and championing coding standards
• Coach teammates and provide technical mentorship to level up the whole team
• Retrospect and influence how our team works recommending product or process improvements

Ideally, you already have experience in building and running distributed applications at scale
