Staff DevOps Engineer

Summary

The job description is for a Staff DevOps Engineer at ShipBob. The role involves designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft infrastructure in Azure DevOps. The employee will collaborate with various teams, mentor others, manage security standards, and support deployments.

Requirements

• More than six years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role (or similar); experience in software development and infrastructure development is a plus
• Demonstrated experience with managing Azure multi-region cloud services
• Experience with enterprise-grade multi-region network design
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with Kubernetes systems
• Experience with CI/CD principles and deployment strategies in Azure DevOps using YAML pipelines
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments in the organization
• Demonstrated experience with Azure PaaS and implementation troubleshooting
• Established experience with planning and implementing large scalable solutions
• Understanding of enterprise-level security and compliance standards

Responsibilities

• Designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft infrastructure in Azure DevOps
• Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to understand new business needs and conceptualizing those needs into features via Critical Design Reviews
• Recommending solutions to bottlenecks in the development process and implementing solutions to address them
• Mentoring, pairing, participating in code reviews, and delegating work to encourage the professional and technical growth of those around you
• Coordinating with engineering and product leadership to define and prioritize projects that help us meet business objectives
• Investigating how your features are performing in production to learn and make the product better
• Managing security standards in all our applications and application planning
• Deploying and managing infrastructure via infrastructure as code
• Triaging and debugging technical support requests
• Resolving any issues with Engineering infrastructure while also pushing coding standards and cleaner implementations
• Supporting teams during deployments to ensure pipeline success
