Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional development experience in a web-based SaaS role
  • Deep understanding and RESTful APIs and n-tier web applications
  • Proven experience with at least one major back-end language and framework (e.g., C#/.Net, Node.js/Express, Python/Django/Flask, Ruby on Rails)
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with their core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Azure App Services)
  • Proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and its ecosystem
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and maintainable architecture
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). Ability to design efficient schemas, inspect and optimize ORM generated queries, and manage data migrations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the frontend architectural vision and strategy for Steer’s products
  • Champion best practices in code quality, test automation (unit, integration, E2E), security, and maintainability
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
  • Champion scalable and reusable frontend components and libraries that bridge between the design system and customer experience
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack, often in a fast-paced production environment
  • Engage with our CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to ensure seamless deployments and operational efficiency
  • Embody a β€œyou build it, you own it” mindset across the stack, always seeking to understand new aspects of the system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Previous experience in a lead or mentoring role
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
