Staff Technical Program Manager

Summary

Join Addepar's R&D Operations team as a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead large-scale, cross-functional R&D initiatives. You will drive high-priority initiatives, manage detailed plans, and lead cross-functional technical delivery forums. Responsibilities include identifying program risks, establishing escalation processes, and improving the quarterly R&D planning process. You will also establish program management standards, create a collaborative environment, and standardize JIRA use. Success requires 8+ years of technical program management experience, 5+ years managing SaaS product development programs, a solid technical foundation, and proficiency in Jira. Requirements

• 8+ years technical program management or similar relevant experience
• 5+ years of successfully implementing and managing SaaS product development programs; experience in product management or engineering roles preferred
• Solid technical foundation with ability to understand and digest new technical concepts and technologies quickly
• Experience in practicing Agile, with the ability to adjust effectively based on current needs and team dynamics
• Strong experience with program management tools; proficiency in Jira required
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills at all levels
• Comfortable adjusting between the need to be tactical vs. strategic
• Expert in navigating through, and working with ambiguity by bringing structure to large/complex problems
• Organized and detail oriented; comfortable managing multiple initiatives and priorities in parallel

Responsibilities

• Drive a portfolio of high-priority R&D Initiatives, including the creation and management of detailed plans and artifacts
• Lead strategic and tactical weekly cross-functional technical delivery forums across Product, Engineering, Risk and other key stakeholders, as well as monthly Steering Committee forums (SteerCos) with senior leadership
• Develop strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to drive progress, facilitate collaboration, and remove obstacles
• Identify program risks and establish escalation process for facilitating “Return to Green” plan for initiatives that are off-track
• Flex technical expertise and emotional intelligence to align discussions to business outcomes; influence strategy and trade-off decisions to optimize impact and time-to-market
• Coordinate, design, and implement improvements to the quarterly R&D-wide Planning process
• Establish program management standards and best practices, including systems and tools
• Create a collaborative environment that values transparency, learning, efficiency, and creativity
• Standardize JIRA use and operating metrics across teams to drive consistent telemetry, while building velocity measuring tools to track initiative and OKR progress
• Manage user permissions to R&D Ops-managed systems
